Portland Opera is looking for an experienced arts marketing professional to join its strong communications and marketing team. This newly created position will work closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing and the entire team to enhance short- and long-term ticket revenue efforts. Responsibilities include strategic marketing for subscription and single ticket campaigns, innovative audience development programs, subscriber retention efforts, and special events.
Must enjoy fast-paced, team-oriented environment where the action is fast, the job consuming, and the rewards extraordinary.
Required skills and experience: bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field; 3-5 years arts marketing experience (opera marketing an important plus); personal familiarity with the operatic artform; excellent written and oral communication; ability to establish productive relationships outside the Company. Experience with integrated patron database system a definite plus, especially Archtics or Tessitura.

Portland Opera, one of the Northwest’s premiere arts organization and nation’s leading opera companies, seeks an enthusiastic, positive, experienced individual to join a dynamic development team. The Corporate and Foundation Giving Manager works in close partnership with the Director of Development, General Director and the Board of Directors and other volunteers to develop, build and maintain relationships with corporate supporters including general annual support, sponsorships, corporate foundation support and in-kind/trade services and products. This position is also responsible for similar relationships with foundation and government funders.
The successful candidate should be positive, creative, outgoing with a strong collaborative, team-oriented attitude. They must hold a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 three years of experience in corporate and foundation giving at a level of $10,000 and above. They must have a record of proven success in working with high-level volunteers in soliciting significant corporate gifts and building relationships with corporate supporters leading to larger gifts. They should also have experience in developing high quality written proposals for corporate, foundation and government funding.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. A love of opera and/or the performing arts and experience with Archtics or other relational databases such as Raiser’s Edge or Tessitura are plusses.

Portland Opera, one of the Northwest’s premiere arts organization and nation’s leading opera companies, seeks an enthusiastic, positive, experienced individual to join a dynamic development team. The Leadership Giving & Events Manager is responsible for growing the Opera’s Camerata Circle membership of donors of $2,500 or more. This position is directly responsible for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of all individual donors of $2,500 to $10,000+. This staff position personally manages a portfolio of individual donors and some individual/family foundations. They also lead Board members and other key volunteers in their cultivation and solicitation efforts.
The Leadership Giving & Events Manager oversees all cultivation and solicitation events and activities for the Camerata Circle. They also serve as the primary staff leader for the Opera’s fundraising gala (2011) and in support of the Portland Opera Guild’s fundraising event.

They must hold a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in securing gifts of $1,000 and up from individuals and fundraising event management. They must have a record of proven success in working with high-level volunteers in soliciting significant gifts and building relationships with supporters leading to larger gifts. Past experience in leading fundraising events for 100+ people is essential. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. A love of opera and/or the performing arts and experience with Archtics or other fundraising databases are plusses.
